A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved at the Hotel Blake. The sleeping room rate is $149 per night (plus a 15.4-percent tax for a total of $171.95) for single or double occupancy. To receive this room rate, please make your hotel reservations no later than July 14, 2009. The sleeping room rate is available for reservations between Sunday, July 26, and Saturday, August 1, 2009. You can make your reservation on line by clicking the link above or by phoning the hotel directly at (312) 986-1234. To receive the group rate, please reference the reservation code GBLH when making your reservation over the phone or enter GBLH in the “Group Code” box on the “Check Availability” page when making your reservation on line.

Hotel Policies
If you need to cancel your hotel reservation, you must notify the hotel 24 hours before your scheduled arrival. Cancellations made fewer than 24 hours in advance will incur a financial penalty of one night’s room and tax.
A major credit card or debit card will be needed to guarantee your room reservation. The hotel check-in time is 3 p.m., and the checkout time is 12 p.m.
Please remember: Registering for a sleeping room at the hotel does not register you for the workshop. Please go to the registration page on this Web site to register for the workshop.
Hotel Parking
The Hotel Blake offers valet parking at the main entrance. The overnight fee is $39.00 per 24-hour period with in and out privileges

The most convenient airport to the hotel is Chicago Midway International (MDW) Airport (approximately a 20-minute drive). Chicago O’Hare International (ORD) Airport (approximately a 25-minute drive) is further away.

- Head north on West Airport Drive. Turn right at South Cicero Avenue/IL-50. Make a right onto the Stevenson Expressway/I-55 ramp towards Chicago. Merge onto 1-55 North. Take exit 292A for I-90/I-94/Ryan Expressway and merge onto I-90 W/I-94 W. Take exit 51H to merge onto I-290 East. Continue on West Congress Parkway. Turn right at South Federal Street and then make a left at West Harrison Street. Turn left at South Dearborn Street.

Ground Transportation To and From Midway and O’Hare International Airports
Taxi
Taxi service is available from Midway Airport to Hotel Blake for $30-35 and from O’Hare Airport to Hotel Blake for $40-45. Taxi service will take approximately 45 minutes from Midway Airport to Hotel Blake and approximately an hour from O’Hare Airport to Hotel Blake.
Shuttle Service

From O’Hare Airport: Continental Airport Express shuttle service is available from O’Hare Airport to Hotel Blake for $27. The shuttles leave Chicago O'Hare International Airport every 5 to 10 minutes. Tickets may be purchased at the kiosk outside of the International Terminal and on the lower levels of Terminals 1, 2, and 3 at the counters across from the baggage claim. Travelers are picked up at the shuttle center, located on the ground floor of the elevated parking garage. The center is accessible by tunnels from Terminals 1, 2, and 3.
From Midway Airport: Continental Airport Express shuttle service is available from Midway Airport to Hotel Blake for $22. The shuttles leave Midway every 15 minutes and operate between 6:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. Travelers are picked up at the shuttle center, located in front of the main terminal building.

Train Service

From O’Hare Airport: Hotel Blake and O’Hare Airport are connected by the CTA Blue Line. Tickets are $2 and can be purchased at O’Hare Blue Line station, which is located on the lowest level of the main parking garage and is accessible by pedestrian tunnels from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Trains run every 8 minutes from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. weekdays and every 10 minutes from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Guests should exit the train station at the LaSalle station. Upon exiting the station, head south on South LaSalle Street toward West Congress Parkway and turn left onto West Congress Parkway. Turn right onto South Dearborn Street. The walking distance from the LaSalle station to the Hotel Blake is 0.2 miles. The train ride will take approximately 55 minutes.
From Midway Airport: Hotel Blake and Midway Airport are connected by the CTA Orange Line. Tickets are $2 and can be purchased at the Midway Orange Line station, which is located near the airport right across Cicero Avenue. Guests should exit the train at the Library station. Upon exiting the station, head west on West Van Buren Street towards South Plymouth Court. Turn left at South Dearborn Street. The walking distance from the Library stop to the Hotel Blake is 0.2 miles. The train ride will take approximately 35 minutes.

Parking at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 Office
There are several parking lots near the Ralph Metcalfe Federal Building. The closest garage is at the south end of the building; you can enter it from South Federal Street or West Van Buren Street. Costs vary by garage and amount of time parked. There is no parking within the Metcalfe Federal Building itself.
